Window Tint Removal: What to know

When it comes to removing window tint, it should be known that this is no ordinary feat, and is certainly not an enjoyable task (for most).

You’ll need a few things that are simple to get your hands on, however there’s much more to consider than just the small amount of required tools.

All you need to get started is a stainless steel razor-blaze, soapy water and a ton of patience… I WISH.

Removing tint is a process of slowly peeling the film away from the window, in hopes of removing the window tint with as little of a gluey mess possible, which in most instances: IS NOT POSSIBLE.

We use high quality steamers, heat guns, adhesive removers, and protective gear to remove these old adhesives.

We do this while protecting your vehicle from glue stains, post-removal glue residue being left on the window, disposing of the glue, and even if the side window tint removal goes extremely well..

There is still one thing to consider: THE BACK GLASS. The rear glass of your vehicle has those orange lines on it - they’re called defroster lines, and they’re what heat up your window when there is ice on it. So you can see.

When removing window tint improperly, those defrost lines can be pulled off and you wont be able to use your rear defroster anymore - at least not without replacing the back glass. ($$$)

There are quite a few reasons why window tint removal may be necessary; and we’ve seen a lot of unsavory window tint removal projects.

  1. Vehicle Safety Certification & Resale
(Tint wont pass safety standards for resale)

  2. Tint has peeled from bottom corner of window
    (Improper installation)

  3. Fading, Discolouration, Haze
    (Poor quality of materials installed)

  4. Bubbling or Delamination

(When film portions separate causing bubbling effect aka. delamination)
