Window Tint Shades: what you need to know.
Examples of what each shade of VLT appears like (please see film in person)
When it comes to picking the right shade of window tint, there are a few things you should consider.
Legality and responsibility (You should know your provincial & state laws for window tint, if not, ask your installer to help guide you)
How layering Tint works (If applying tint over factory dyed glass, it will make the glass darker, and give more privacy)
What each shade % actually means (70% VLT means only 30% of light is being blocked, alternatively 5% tint would mean 95% of light is being blocked.)
We know there is a lot to consider when picking a shade, that’s why its important to work with a reputable window tinting shop that specializes in window tinting to help guide you with integrity through the process.
Things that should be discussed during your visit or when setting up an appointment are; the legality of the tint, the shades that match your goals best, considering night time driving, understanding the process and what is involved, understanding of minor imperfections e.g.. 95%> perfection is acceptable, the overall performance level of the film you are wanting installed, best practices for new window tint aftercare (curing process and maintenance).
When you find a shop that you trust that explains everything well, has great reviews and doesn’t seem to be rushing when discussing this information with you; stop looking.
For us, we have a heat lamp display to show you the differences in the window tint types that we offer. This heat lamp display mimics the sun, and gives you proof of the films capability before you buy.
